Birds

This is a project I'm currently working on. I photographed these woodcarvings by the artist H.Bigelow. What an amazing gift  he had.  To be able to work with wood and  create something so stunning but yet so simple. Bigelow carved birds he saw along the Maine coastline and in his back yard.We are making a book of several of his carvings. Look for that soon.

Ozzie Sweet

heidi haseltine photography 2011

Ozzie Sweet, 92, a legendary photographer. I had an amazing opportunity to take some photos of him a little while ago. I had know idea he lived in the same town as I do.  A legend living down the street! He shot Albert Einstein laughing, dozen of baseball heros and countless other famous people. I'd have to say he's lead a full accomplished life of photography. I wish I could have been his assistant. I have much gratitude for him allowing me to take his photo. Thank you Ozzie.

Giorgio Morandi

I'm really loving the colors in Giorgio Morandi's still life paintings. They remind me of the spring that's on its way. Goodbye February!! Hello March. If you feel inspired by Morandi's colors, check out Farrow& Ball's new 2011 Colours. They really make me want to paint something in the style of Morandi!
